Overview

Daun Woka, located in the vibrant Pantai Indah Kapuk area of North Jakarta, is a standout destination for those craving authentic Manado cuisine. This restaurant captures the rich and robust flavors of North Sulawesi with notable precision, bringing dishes steeped in tradition to Jakarta’s culinary scene.

The menu offers an impressive array of signature Manado specialties such as woku, pangi, acar kuning, and sate ragey, alongside rice cooked in woka leaves and the beloved brenebon—a hearty red bean soup with pork ribs. The flavors are bold and layered, reflecting the region’s penchant for spice and complex seasoning. Notably, the pork dishes stand out, making this an ideal choice for non-halal diners seeking genuine tastes from Manado.

The dining experience is enhanced by a spacious and clean interior with ample seating options, including outdoor tables that invite guests to enjoy fresh sea air. The ambiance strikes a chill, relaxed tone, supported by attentive yet unobtrusive staff who contribute to a welcoming atmosphere. Adding traditional Minahasa music, like kolintang or bamboo instruments, could further heighten the cultural immersion, a small suggestion welcomed by loyal patrons.

Daun Woka caters primarily to food enthusiasts familiar with Manado’s distinct culinary identity, as well as newcomers eager to explore this regional Indonesian cuisine. Patrons frequently praise the authenticity, noting that the dishes closely mirror home-cooked meals found in North Sulawesi. The complimentary iced tea offers a refreshing counterpoint to the spicy dishes, underscoring thoughtful service.

While the savory selections shine, desserts receive mixed feedback, with some patrons pointing to a less authentic execution of sweet treats like lampu-lampu and klapertaart. This area presents an opportunity for refinement to fully round out the dining journey.

Conveniently situated with manageable parking and clean facilities, Daun Woka is a superb choice for those seeking a genuine taste of Manado far from urban Jakarta’s hustle. Whether for a casual meal or gathering with friends and family, it promises a flavorful dive into Sulawesi’s culinary heritage.

Great food, close to what I’ve had back in North Sulawesi. They have almost everything, from woku, pangi, acar kuning, and more. Highly recommended! The desert, however, is far from the real thing; and I’d STRONGLY suggest the owner to fix it. The lampu-lampu for example, has strong bitter aftertaste and the brown sugar is watery, unlike what I’ve had in North Sulawesi. Seating is spacious and clean. Staffs are friendly.

This Manado restaurant is seriously good! You've GOT to try the Cakalang Rabe, Babi Tore, and Klapertaart. The food's amazing, the vibe is super chill, and the service is really friendly. If you're into Manado food, this place is a must!

Very authentic manadonese cuisine. We ordered tinutuan, paket nasi campur, corn fritters, ragey and es brenenon for dessert. All are very delicious and very authentic as if I am eating in Manado. The ragey is very tasty, a little to thick though. Free refill iced tea, they say because their food are spicy. It is indeed quite spicy. Top notch service. Nice place and ambience. Neat and clean. Would highly recommend this place and I will certainly come back here.

To me, this is the best non-halal Manado resto in Jakarta, as born and breed in Minahasa (Manado), so far Daun Woka is closer to home-cooking taste! Loved the ‘nasi kuning’ aka yellow rice on woka leaf, ‘brenebon’ (red bean soup with pork ribs), suntung (squid with black ink), and all pork cookings that they have on display counter. The staff were nice (not disturbing and not over attentive). Definitely will come back and bring my relatives and friends over and make sure we come with empty tummy. Minor suggestion if I may, would be great if they could add some Minahasa/Manado music (kolintang/musik bambu) to elevate the ambience. So far all good.

There are not many Manado restaurants around Jakarta, and this place is excellent. The price is a little bit expensive, but the food is very good. The sate ragey is excellent, the meat is excellent and the spices are quite good. Other food are excellent as well. The place is a non-halal restaurant where you can get pork. Parking is typical of PIK 2 area, you need to pay street parking but it is quite convenient. Place is very clean, toilet is very clean. Services is excellent. Place is good to sit on, there are many chairs available. You can opt in to sit outside as well to have some fresh sea air as the place isn’t located on the urban part of Jakarta.
